MileVault keeps everything on your iPhone, so most questions are about how drives get recorded rather than about accounts or syncing.

Common questions

How does a drive start?

Three ways, all of them certain: your car's Bluetooth stereo connects, CarPlay connects, or you tap Start — in the app, on the home screen widget, or on your Apple Watch. MileVault deliberately does not start drives from movement alone, because that is what makes other trackers log your walk to the shops as a drive. Register your car once in Settings and the rest is automatic.

I forgot to record a drive. Can I still add it?

Yes. Add a drive and choose from A to B — type the two addresses and MileVault measures the route for you. You can also enter the miles directly, or a pair of odometer readings.

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone. MileVault has no account and no server, so nothing is uploaded and nothing syncs. Deleting the app deletes your records — export or back up first.

How do I move everything to a new iPhone?

Settings, then Move to a new iPhone. It writes one encrypted file protected by a passphrase you choose, which you open on the new iPhone. Keep the passphrase safe: it cannot be recovered.

Is the mileage rate updated automatically?

No, and that is deliberate — an app with no server cannot fetch one. New official rates arrive with app updates, and you can enter a rate yourself at any time. Anything calculated with a rate that may be out of date is flagged in the app.

How do I see my drives on a computer?

Settings, then the browser view. Your iPhone serves the page over your own Wi-Fi and shows you a code to enter in the browser. Nothing goes over the internet, and the server stops the moment you leave the app.

How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?

Open Settings inside MileVault, then MileVault Pro, and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases follow your Apple Account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the period you have paid for runs to its end.
